This article is the latest in a series of amazing articles which were the result of some web based research I did into the possibilities of alternative fuel solutions. These articles can be found at my Water 4 Gas Blog
As improbable as one might presume, Fred Flintstone was dead on as he "drove" his foot powered automobile!!! Yep, that is where my research led me! The cave man's only mistake is that as an a cartoon character he was limited in his ability to "think in abstracts" and conceive of the bigger picture!
People are coming to realize that a significant natural source of electrical energy is the energy generated from the routine activities that most everyone does and it can be done without slave labor camps! Just by going about our daily routines but by being somewhat more intelligent about itas regards capturing and recycling of energy we can power large cities!
Well it appears that ol' Fred had more going on in his head than it appeared! Well, it is one place where my research led me. I also have written other pieces.
My primary objective is to enlighten people about the wealth of alternative energy data at my Water 4 Gas that educates people how to convert your gas powered vehicle engine into partial combination or total water-based hydrogen consuming system. But in that activity I have discovered the creative thinking of alternative energy that I wanted to help publicize some of the fascinating discoveries I have found with you as well.
Some approaches include the floor of a dance club that captures and regenerates electrical energy from the vibrations of the dancers on the dance floor to shoes that generate electrical energy by converting motion from taking a stroll into electricity. One of these shoes currently being tested can generate about six watts, which would be more than sufficient to keep you from having to recharge your cell phone battery. Besides Fred Flintstone, another icon of 1960s television was the shoe phone used by Maxwell Smart on the Get Smart comedy. This is a new spin on a shoe phone!
Recapturing human activity into a power source has a long, strange history (no, not talking about Fred again lol). The first phones, two centuries ago, were powered by turning a crank that generated an electrical impulse to notify the operator when one was placing a. Flashlights that operate by hand crank have long been available. So have hand-crank portable radios.
But unlike these predecessors, most of the new approaches focus on retaining energy that is a byproduct of routine human activities, such as exercising, dancing and walking. Scientists label such devices "parasitic" generators. There are a number of researchers working on recapturing the energy of crowds. It's as if someone thought about the Mardi Gras or a World Series game or a Bruce Springsteen concert and said..."wow! If we could just harness that energy!"
The power from human energy may have more immediate uses as source of energy in developing countries or in areas off the beaten track of humanity where there is no electricity available. The Defense Department Of The United States has invested tons of money in the past decade on development of what they call "heel strike generators" which can be placed in soldiers' boots and could help lower the battery equipment they need to carry. I am not endorsing this. It is just interesting
Larry Rome, a biology professor at the University of Pennsylvania, recently launched a company called Lightning Packs which seek to provide backpacks which can manufacture electricity from the bouncing motion of walking (Think about the implications for some Hollywood starlets! ). In a recent test, his prototype was able to generate approximately fifteen watts of energy from the up-and-down motion of the pack
The research he has done on the backpacks was partially funded by the National Institutes of Health, which was interested in seeing whether the power-generating backpacks could be utilized to refrigerate vaccine supplies in remote areas.
Allow me to take a second to direct some attention in the direction of my main activity in the midst of these happy musings in this particular articles series.
WATER4GAS is offering information at a low price which individuals can use in their garage or wherever to build a small gizmo which instills hydrogen into the gas/air mixture that their vehicle runs on.
What this does is make bite sized particles out of the ones that the engine uses as fuel. So the system is able to use much more of it.
With WATER4GAS you can minimumly expect to improve your fuel economy by 12%. But many are obtaining 30-50% improvement or even more. Those particles must have been pretty "blankin'" big in some engines before. But with W4G they are made consumable so you can improve your fuel economy.
It also helps to lower emissions significantly.
This package of info has been purchased by over NINE THOUSAND individuals already and the percentage of happy customers is about 99%! So that's a start!
