These are arbitrarily chosen but startling statistics. For each one I have included 100s and 1000s exist of similarly startling statistics. After you have read this I will tell you at least one thing that you can do about it.
twelve% of the population of the world lives in North America and Western Europe and comprises
60 percentof private consumption spending, but over one-third of the the world's population that comprises the population in South Asia and the lower parts of Africa account for only 3.2 percent.
In 1950, the global population was 2.6 billion people. There were 53,000,000 autos - which which is equivalent to one automobile for every 50 persons. Now, there are 6 billion people and 500 million autos-more than 1 car:12people
In 2003, fuel consumption per capita in North America was 1,593.1 litres per person, at the same tme in developing countries it was 59.2 litres per individual
A study determined that over a typical life span, the typical American will generate 13X's (the amount of environmental harm as the average person living in Brazil
So we get the blame for messing up the planet once again. Americans are fat slobs thatgobble up much too much and that is why the planet is dying. If that alone were factual that would be enough cause for alarm. But read this statistic....
In 1996 Asia outsold North America and Western Europe combined on new autos. In Mexico, from 1960 to 1990 the new autos sales increased by over 1,000%. In Brazil over that same time period, the increase was nearly 2,500%. Since the mid-1980s, China's auto sales has increased by more than 10% a year. Government projections are for 22 million vehicles in China by 2010, and a higher number of trucks and farm vehicles.
So the rest of the world is starting to catch up with us in terms of excessive use of resources. Sooner or later, something has to give.
Well as far as fuel and fuel shortages and fuel prices are concerned, that change is something that you can make happen right in your own motor vehicle's engine.
What if you never had to buy another gallon of fuel again?
Convert your fuel engine to hydrogen.
If you do a partial (hybrid) conversion then you can expect to see savings on your fuel consumption of up to 30% maybe more.
If you do this and also add acetone to your gas tank (which will save you another 25% or so) then you will have lowered your fuel consumption by a combined 50%! Put in about 2-3 ounces of acetone per 10 gallons of fuel and the fuel will evaporate less easily and you increase your fuel mileage by 25% or more.
If you do a full gas to hydrogen conversion then you will have pumped your last gallon of fuel for the rest of your life. It is really quite easy, costs next to nothing, doesn't pollute the environment and you will enjoy the pleasure of knowing that you are conserving resources instead of using up more than your fair share.
